Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats according STCW


For seafarers who, as part of the ship's crew, need to be able to launch, maneuver and take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat in an emergency.

 

Content:

  • Launching and recovering survival craft and rescue boats
  • Maneuvering survival craft and rescue boats
  • Knowledge of parts and equipment and the proper use of equipment and food
  • Use of lifeboats to collect life rafts and rescue survivors
  • Use of radio rescue equipment
  • Use of first aid equipment and proper treatment and prevention of hypothermia
  • Use of pyrotechnic distress signals

  • Section A-VI/2 in conjunction with SchOffzAusb V § 7 No. 5

 

Requirements

  • valid certificate of fitness for service at sea
  • Proof of competency Basic Safety Training not older than 5 years (10 days course)
  • or refresher course (refresher course) not older than 5 years
  • Seagoing service of at least 6 months
  • Minimum age 18 years

Duration

  • 40 hours
  • 1 week (monday - friday)

Gradiuation

  • Certification of attendance to apply the certificat of competency for "Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats" at the BSH
