STCW Basic Safety Training (authorized by BG Verkehr)


 

All registered seafarers who are hired or employed for the perfomance of duties in the field of safety or the prvention of marine and environmental pollution require basic safety training in accordance with the STCW Convention with the following content:

 

  • Personal Survival Techniques / Survival at Sea (A-VI/1-1)
  • Fire prevention and firefighting (A-VI/1-2)
  • Basics of First Aid (A-VI/1-3)*
  • Personal security and social responsibilities (A-VI/1-4)
  • Basics of hazard prevention / Security Awareness Training (A-VI/6)  

 

* The first aid part is taught during the course. Participants with a current first aid certificate (not older than 5 years, 16 h), a basic emergency medical course or with professional medical training (e.g. doctors, nurses) can be exempted from these training hours.

 

Corresponding proof must be submitted before the start of the course.

 

This is a course approved by the BG Verkehr (part of the area of hazard prevention is approved by the BSH).

The course content relates to Sections A-VI/1-1 to A-VI/1-4 and A-VI/6 of the STCW Convention as well as to SOLAS Chapter XI-1, SOLAS Chapter XI-2 and the ISPS Code Part A and b.

 

 

 

 


Requirements

  • valid ID
  • valid certificate of fitness for service at sea (Medical Certificate)
  • seafaring time is not valid
The original documents must be submitted at the beginning of the course.

Duration

- 80 hours (50 hours theory, 30 hours practice) - 08:30 - 16:00

- monday - friday (10 days)

 

Gradiuation

- Certification of attendance to apply the certificat of competency for "Basic Safety Traing" and

  "Security-related Training" at the BSH
