Advanced Fire Fighting according STCW


 For seafarers assigned to the control of firefighting operations. These individuals require training in firefighting methods with particular emphasis on organisation, tactics and leadership, this is reflected in the advanced fire fighting course.

 

Content:

  • Tactics, management and organization in firefighting operations
  • Use of water to extinguish fires, taking into account the stability of the ship
  • Communication and coordination in firefighting operations
  • Firefighting related to dangerous goods
  • Raising awareness of the dangers of firefighting
  • Elaboration of emergency plans
  • Fire detection systems and fire extinguishing system

Legal Basis:

  • STCW Convention 1978, as amended Regulation VI/3
  • Section A-VI/3 in conjunction with SchOffzAusb V § 7 No. 5

 

Requirements

  • valid certificate of fitness for service at sea
  • Proof of competency Basic Safety Training not older than 5 years (10 days course) or                                                                                 refresher course (refresher course) not older than 5 years
  • Minimum age 18 years

Sassnitz / Mukran
Sassnitz - theorie (monday - tuesday)
Mukran - practical (wednesday - thursday)

Examination on friday in Sassnitz

 

Duration

  • 40 hours
  • 1 week (monday - friday)

Gradiuation

  • Certification of attendance to apply the certificat of competency for "Advanced Fire Fighting" at the BSH
